Basic OSM Notes Search BE

A simple web interface to search and display OpenStreetMap notes specifically for Belgium.

Purpose

This project provides a clean and focused tool to query the OpenStreetMap (OSM) Notes API. It is designed to help contributors quickly find and visualize map feedback (notes) within the Belgian territory.

The application allows users to:

  • Search for notes using specific keywords.
  • Filter notes based on their status (open or closed).
  • Visualize the results to facilitate mapping and data validation in Belgium.

How it works

The tool acts as a frontend for the official OpenStreetMap Notes API. When a search is performed, it fetches the corresponding geographic data and text-based notes, then presents them in a readable format.

Deployment

The live version of the interface is hosted via GitHub Pages at: https://pasloin.github.io/Basic-Osm-Notes-Search-BE/

Usage

  1. Open the web page.
  2. Enter your search criteria (text, status).
  3. Review the notes to identify areas in OpenStreetMap that require updates or verification.
