Mic isssues E14 gen6

The E14 gen6 (ryzen 7735 HS) has mic issues regarding the 3.5mm.
I fixed solved the issue following using alsa-tools-gui activating the pins and installing the boot override following this solution here .

Other issues and fixes with the gen6 ryzen are still to be tested.

Thanks for documenting this, I have scoured what feels like half of the internet for this issue.
I am running 6.11.0-061100-generic but the issue does not seem to be resolved, the mic mute light lights up on boot and pressing the mute button does not unmute the mic, nor does it switch off the LED.

Not really sure what the issue is. The Jack rewiring also does not achieve anything for me :(

For me with kernel "6.12.4-arch1-1" internal mic is not listed at all. I had the "snd_pci_acp6x" option added to "/etc/modules-load.d/sound.conf" initially and it was working flawlessly. On Debian Sid I now run a 6.12.6 kernel. In this version, it seems, the builtin microphone is now listed and working. No special tweaking was required for me.

1UP here, updating to 6.12.7 kernel it is working again, unbelievable. No workarounds needed at all (outside from the initial kernel module loading solution, which in a nutshell is to add "snd_pci_acp6x" in my case to /etc/modules-load.d/sound.conf), please mark this as resolved! @ramaureirac

Thanks for contributing the updates and research @JacksonFurrier @ipatix !

When creating the issue I ran 6.8.0 Debian and updated my kernel to 6.10.7 Debian, which didnt resolve the issue. (I now rolled back to 6.8.0 Debian for other reasons. )
Ubutnu LTS 24.10 currenty ships with kernel 6.11, people running on 22.04 still might want to resolve this issue.
Perhaps renaming the issue for kernels below 6.12 or closing it.

@daniyaalk I remember reinstalling a few components, you might try

sudo apt install --reinstall pulseaudio
sudo apt install --reinstall alsa-base alsa-utils
sudo apt install pulseaudio
sudo apt install pavucontrol
pulseaudio -k && sudo alsa force-reload

and reattempting the posted solution with alsa-tools-gui pins. But the cleanest solution would be to update to 6.12.

Dear @mhrsh-dev pretty good, thank you for your update. This is a quite tricky bug to fix, I will might try to send some update info on the arch wiki so no one will have to go through all these trial-and-error steps :)

Okay, while the microphone is indeed working, I noticed the audio signal from the built in microphone has quite substantial DC offset. This causes pop sounds when muting or unmuting the microphone.

@JacksonFurrier Hello! I have an E16 that is supposed to be the exact same hardware as your E14, but no matter what I try I can't get the microphone issue fixed. I read your post on the arch forums where you mention the product name not matching was the issue.

The E16 has a different product name, 21M60008AR, is it possible this not matching is why the patch has no effect on my machine?

Hello @ThomasMiz , I am pretty sure that will be the issue in your case. I literally tried everything and none of the workarounds seemed to have any effect. You might need to compile a kernel for yourself :(

Hello! Thanks for the response, I could not fathom crawling back to Windows so after a lengthy weekend that's exactly what I did, and it worked without needing any of the other workarounds!

I want to send a patch in with this to the kernel (I have no idea how).

Hello, I have e14 gen 6 with 7735hs (21M4CTO1WW) and the mic works in a way it shouldn't.
It looks like it's receiving something that looks like a DC offset:

Also a friend of mine who has the same laptop is experiencing the very same issue:

And we're sure this isn't a hardware fault, since this doesn't happen on Windows 11:

Is there a way to fix it?
Tested with Arch Linux with KDE Plasma
Kernel is 6.14.7, driver is snd_pci_acp6x.
Audio chip is a Conexant CX8070.
