Token file does not respect path

Hey team!

We have noticed that the "Token file" does not respect the path.

There seems to be a bug in the plugin itself, and if you specify the token path in Intellij to for instance to $HOME/.vault-token-staging or even to ~/.vault-token-staging, it does not work. You have to use the full path, e.g. /Users/michal/.vault-token-staging.

Not a blocking issue, though, something to look into.

P.S. I run it on Mac, IntelliJ IDEA 2025.2.2 (Ultimate Edition), plugin version is 1.3.6.

There does not seem to exist in Java an easy way to expand user home or enviroment variables like in Python os.path.expandvars(path) .

Any way, I like to use a Token Helper to use my operating system keyring, and I suggest everyone to use one.

Beware:

Support for parsing Vault config file from environment variable VAULT_CONFIG_PATH or default ~/.vault is restricted to JSON syntax only. It does not support native HCL syntax.
