is it possible to include full backup name into differential backup ?

it is not a bug report, but a question.

we do full backups & differential backups and deliver them to S3.
some of our software looks for files on S3 and tries to build backup chain, i.e. which full backup is related to some particular diff backup.

we are looking for some hints how to match diff backup against full.
what comes to mind maybe there's some possibility of naming convention when name of full backup is included into diff backup.

we appreciate other ideas as well.

@chipitsine, I think the best would be to loop through all the backup files, run a RESTORE HEADERONLY for each of them with the results into a table. Then you can use that to build the backup chain.
