Bypass doesn't work

1. Universal rules are set to block UDP, port 80 and when DNS is bypassed.

2. DNS is set to follow System.

3. Block all but bypassed apps and IPs is enabled.

4. An app is set to bypass universal rules. Specific domain is set as trusted in this app.

5. This app shows connectivity errors for its trusted domain.

It seems disabling all settings from 1 and 2 above fix the issues but this is not the expected behaviour.

The bypassed app should bypass all settings and be able to connect only to its trusted domain.

Is this correct? If yes, any fix?

Which Rethink version were you using (check the footer of the About UI in the app)?

What Android version are you on? Rethink supports Configure -> DNS -> Split DNS on Android 12+ (which results in a more accurate block/allow rule enforcement).

Can you see if setting this app to "Isolate" instead works?

What are these errors? Do these show up in Configure -> Logs -> Network or DNS log (usually the error detail, if any, for completed connections/requests, is shown in the footer of the bottomsheet that comes up when you tap on any of the entries in the DNS / Network logs UI)?

Errors like "connection failed". Sorry cannot remember if showed up in log.

"Connection failed" isn't Rethink blocking the egress. Rethink marks all egress it blocks with a red-colour left-hand side border in Configure -> Logs -> Network or Configure -> Logs -> DNS.

If it happens again, please do get us a screenshot of the bottomsheet showing connection details (of the egress connection that was blocked by Rethink which should have instead been "bypassed"), if you are comfortable.
