Extending the use

Is it possible to extend the use for this to other type of networks (not just Zigbee)?

OK Here is a solution that will hopefully help someone else.

1. Set up Node Red to create a JSON object with this format:

   { "friendlyName": "Server 1", "ieeeAddr": "192.168.1.11", "type": "EndDevice" },

   ]
   }

2. Set up Node Red to publish to MQTT with topic "network_map"

3. Define a MQTT sensor:

  name: my_network_map
  state_topic: "network_map"
  json_attributes_topic: "network_map"
  value_template: >-
  {{ now().strftime('%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S') }}
  json_attributes_template: "{{ value_json.data.value | tojson }}"

4. Add a card

• type: custom:zigbee2mqtt-networkmap
  entity: sensor.my_network_map
