ARXIV references don't always work

Describe the bug

When citing Arxiv articles, using the ARXIV:0000.00000 command, some show up in the reference menu in the right, some don't. Some get an automatic purple link attached, some don't. All 4 possible configurations happen. Things work properly for DOI refs. The only other plugins I have are Extended Mathjax, Latex Suite and Tag Wrangler, I doubt they interact.
