Move to Web Components from React

I am recommending to move to Lit framework with Web components.

Because React is not a web standard and will not last long!

I do not think a full move from React to Web Components/Lit is justified by the argument given here.

"React is not a web standard" is not, by itself, a technical reason to rewrite a large application. The relevant question is whether such a migration would solve a concrete problem better than incremental improvements in the current stack.

In this codebase, React is not just a thin view layer. It is deeply integrated into app composition, hooks, state management, popup/render tooling, and the existing test setup. Replacing it with Lit/Web Components would be a major rewrite with high regression risk and a large delivery cost.

If there is a specific goal, for example framework-agnostic embeddable widgets, stronger DOM/style isolation, or a third-party plugin boundary, then Web Components could make sense at those boundaries.

But for the main editor application, this currently reads as a framework preference, not an evidence-based architectural improvement. If we want to discuss this seriously, we should first define:

1. what concrete problems React is causing here,
2. what measurable benefits Lit/Web Components would bring,
3. why those benefits outweigh the migration cost and risk.

I have to think deeper in details about this problem!

What I know is that Lit is really small and has great features in its pockets.

For instance you can use Virtualizer for optimal UI performance.

You also have a much more Shadow DOM dependency contrary to React.

Also it is a more declarative approach with @decorators that renders your components part of the HTML available elements.
