Info
Goal : To rewrite the main website and documentation using Rust and frameworks such as Yew, Tauri, and Tailwind CSS.
No documentation writing is required, just the framework for it. If you would like to write the documentation as well, some things can be based off of the existing documentation and the old wiki. Others would either involve asking me, or looking through the code of the diffrent repositories for information.
The website can be simplistic, like the one used by canine.tools.
Information for the website can either be placeholder text, or It could be found through the sources previously mentioned.
If any information not available currently is needed, you can contact me. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.
The art and other official assets for this project can be found here. I am open so suggestions for better artwork, though that's what I was able to make. (I would like to get a commission from someone like LovecutV or CoolKoinu. I don't have good enough reference art to warrant purchasing one though. So ya. There's plans for that.)
The difficulty level depends on your familiarity with Rust based web development. For some it may be an easy task, as its really just making a simple website and some documentation. Though I'm probably not the best source of estimating difficulty. If you look at the other repositories under this organization. Or even under my GitHub account.
All contributions to PRTGN repositories require the contributor to agree to our organization wide policies. They can be found here.
I would like to include information from the organizations README.md file
Some other websites that could serve as inspiration could be :
Website :
https://winboat.app
https://fedoraproject.org
https://canine.tools
Documentation :
https://doc.rust-lang.org/stable/book/index.html
https://doc.rust-lang.org/cargo/
Random CSS/HTML things
https://codepen.io/Juxtopposed/pen/jORqBrJ
https://codepen.io/Juxtopposed/pen/JjVXRey
https://codepen.io/aleph-naught2tog/pen/poMrJor
https://codepen.io/Tbgse/pen/dYaJyJ | Could have something like this though more like a Linux terminal, with the front bit being something like Artiy@PRTGN_Linux:~$. Could also have something like a hyfetch / macchina output.
My goal for this entire project is to have as much of it be done in safe Rust code as posible. The websites are a part that can be Rust, but I don't have the skillset to make Rust. To be fair I don't really have the skillset to make them in any other language either. There's a reason PRTGN is a TUI program.
Note, If you were to use an LLM for something, it would be ideal if it was one of the following. In no particular order. Claude, Mistral, Gemini, Junie, Lumo.
