We can use fsspec and configure it via a setting menu to allow access to

1. remote S3FS (e.g JASMIN object store)
2. remote HTTPS (e.g. CMIP)
3. remote SSH (e.g JASMIN GWS via normal JASMIN credentials)

To do this, we should configure a local block cache for best performance.
