Start using ruff for auto-formatting

I started the project with a maximum line length of 120 and without any auto-formatting. Let's change that to use black and also use their default of 88 characters for line length - avoid discussions on code style in the future.
For comments let's try to have them also not longer than 88 characters

I've been thinking more about ruff and I'm getting more convinced we should directly switch to ruff as it's like black but faster and essentially better. With ruff we could also get rid of flake8 and unify our tooling and tests in the future...
And there seems to be an active and healthy community around it so it looks fairly future-proof.
@GabrielSousa02 do you agree, is there any reason to not use ruff?

And let's also directly integrate that into our CI and make it a requirement to auto-format code

I've been using ruff for a while, it's pretty reliable and fast. There's a lot of things it can do, and like you said, it's a two in one tool. I will set it up, and also update the CLI!
